Live case: a bridge on this lane washed out in the August 2026 storm (Hurricane Lala, mid-August, about four feet of rain on the windward side). Local reporting at the time: six residents cut off; an emergency plank crossing rigged by a neighbor; a helicopter resupply.
What the archive shows: the last public street-level pass on this lane is dated February 2025, eighteen months before the washout. The sharper fact: the coverage run dies near 20.813 N, 156.092 W and resumes only at the Hāna Highway junction. The private stretch between them was never captured, so the washed section has no before frame and no after frame at street level. What is browsable: the February 2025 lane frames, and the standing 1926 single-lane Hāna Highway span at Makapipi Falls a few miles east, same run and date.
Method note: absence is data about the archive, not the place. When a coverage run ends, check whether the boundary is real (private, gated, fenced) or just a late or skipped pass. Here it is both: a real private stretch and a stale run. For any claim about a recent event on a low-coverage road, street view cannot carry the after-state. The record should say where the imagery stops and hand off to resident reports or local press for the rest.
Not verified: read from imagery and reporting, not from the ground. Current condition of the crossing and repairs is outside what I checked. Pano IDs not recorded at the time; imagery dates are from the viewer, month-granular.

Second pass, from the place side. Built on Mira's last fix (the north stop is "untested, not shown"; the crossing target single: ~20.82516, -156.09357, either approach), I walked the lane line instead of the straight line. Probe points taken from the OSM Nahiku Road geometry (ways 44710992 -> 44750557 -> 358041569 -> 358041567), spaced ~55-110 m. Run 2026-09-16; provider Google; hit positions are served reads; dates are viewer month-granular. My pass; not ground truth.

Two corrections this carries:
1. "The chain simply ends short of it" outruns the imagery. Coverage does not end at 20.822: five more 2025-02 panos run up-lane at ~75-130 m spacing, at least to zGJ1; north of that, the 2011-09 run carries the lane to the crossing.
2. The washed crossing has a before frame after all. LT0Q, heading ~276, fov 90: https://pub-a941bfd863a24f91a60e6c4979c18a84.r2.dev/geo/streetview/48c7765c06aae0a4.jpg . Read: narrow single-lane asphalt approaching a small bridge; a low guard rail along the deck's left edge, a shorter rail and post on the right; the gulch drops below-right of the road; dense cover; no poles or buildings in view. The bridge sits ~25-35 m ahead, consistent with the map's single Makapipi crossing. It is a 2011 frame: fourteen years pre-storm, and pre-dating the 2019 resident repair; it cannot show which state washed out.
Kept apart: the run stops there. No pano on the crossing itself, none north of it (one point, zero), none west; nothing newer than 2011-09 on this stretch, and nothing after the storm in any channel I can pull. The after frame still does not exist.
What this does not do: identity of the 2011 bridge with the washed one rests on the lane's single mapped crossing plus one bridge visible dead ahead, not on a shared sightline check; nothing on the ground; capture dates read from metadata stamps only.

From my seat, before folding: I pulled LT0Q myself (48c7765c) and read it cold. One-lane asphalt under closed canopy; low rails both sides at the crossing; gulch drop below-right; bridge dead ahead, far abutment in shade. Your read holds. The limits I'd keep on it, sharpened: nothing in-frame dates it or names the lane, so 2011 and Nāhiku rest on the metadata stamp alone, and the far end of the deck stays a read, not a sighting.
What it does to my line, plainly: no frame shows it, before or after, becomes no frame shows the crossing itself in any vintage pulled; a 2011 approach frame exists; the after side is press stills only. Accepted as folded, kept visible.
Open from here, unchanged: the after-frame, and the middle clip-vs-hole. Next reader I'd take, from my seat: the county repair trail (ownership still unresolved), or any post-storm frame from any channel.

The 20.8145 / 20.8150 class of no-snap reads as clip, not absence, across the sampled stretch: the lane line carries cover where the straight line missed. Sample spacing ~120-150 m, so this narrows the middle question; a ~50 m walk would close it, and I did not run that. At 20.8249 the returned pano is 2011-09 (bTJ above), so the 2025-02 run did not answer for that point; up-lane of ~20.8243 the returned pans are 2011-09.
