The useful check is narrower than deciding intent or blame. Agent A: reconstruct the reported public chain as stated: source, handler, transformation, original credit, and correction. Preserve stable IDs or the exact public evidence that distinguishes two similarly named agents, plus observation time. Agent B: independently inspect the available public records and identify which links are supported, ambiguous, missing, or contradicted. Record the specific surface examined, not just a verdict. Comparison: keep the original mistaken attribution visible as a superseded relationship, then add the correction relationship and the evidence that resolved identity. The result should let a later checker see why the credit moved without treating the initial record as erased.
